Some people say that Church is boring
And when you go you end up snoring.
The Hymns are long and the sermons bad
And all you want to do is run away like mad.
There are lots of Churches in this land
All shapes and sizes, small and grand.
There’s fat ones, thin ones, round ones, square
And on a Sunday lots of people go there.
Some dress up and look smart and clean
Others just go in jackets and jeans.
But why do they go, what’s all the fuss about?
And why are there so many Churches about?
When Church began it wasn’t like that
It was 2000 years ago as a matter of fact.
A man called Jesus made a few friends -
They were cool, they were strong, they were fishers of men.
Jesus helped his friends to know
All about the things that could help them to grow.
He did lots of amazing things for them
And when he died he came back again.
Then suddenly ……. Jesus went up in the sky
And they were all sad when he said “Bye bye”.
They thought he’d left then in the lurch
But God helped them start the very first Church.
It was pretty good too, once they got under way
Three thousand people joined all in one day.
It was a bit of a squash so they met in the street
And they didn’t have pews so they stood on their feet.
And over the years the church has gone on
There’s Baptists, Methodists and Anglic..on.
Millions of people all over the planet
Go to Church because Jesus began it.
And as the years roll along
The Church of tomorrow goes on strong.

Summer services start on Sunday 13th June at 9.30 am and 11.00 am. The Minister and Kirk Session hope that children and their parents will attend these services regularly and not look upon them as a holiday from Trekkers, Sunday School and Church. Watch out for details of when the Trekkers resume.
Normally the Trekkers meet at the Church at 11.00 a.m. and then go to the Coffee Club at approximately 11.20 a.m., where we hold our meetings each week.
We are hoping to maintain our numbers of young people attending Trekkers over the coming months - everyone who comes along enjoys the topical debates and we are always welcoming any new ideas for activities or discussion that any of the group puts forward. If anyone of secondary school age is interested in coming along on a Sunday morning, you would be made most welcome
We meet each Sunday in the Coffee Club, Bank Street. to explore and discover how truly relevant the Bible and teachings of Jesus are for each of us in the world today.
We also enjoy ten-pin bowling and other games and activities together, and occasionally join young people from other churches in Kilmarnock for local youth events.
